Berlin Seminar on Energy and Climate Policy

On Sepember 13th, the next session of the „Berlin Seminar on Energy and Climate Policy“ (BSEC) will debate:

Energy Technology Perspectives – pathways to 1.75 C and implications for industry

Invited speakers are:

• Laszlo Varro, Chief Economist, International Energy Agency (IEA)
• Ulrich Benterbusch, Deputy Head of Unit for Heat and Efficiency in Industry, Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy
• Christoph Sievering, Head of Energy Policy, Covestro AG

The new IEA report “Energy Technology Perspectives” explores the technology options (in the different sectors) for limiting the global temperature increase to 1.75°C. Focusing on the industry sector, we will discuss insights and questions emerging from the report and implications for policy design, with a particular focus on innovation and the deployment of new technologies.

The BSEC series is organised jointly by DIW, Ecologic Institute, IfO Institute, Institute for Applied Ecology, MCC, PIK, Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP), and TU-Berlin.
