
Session chairs
Dr. habil. Weert Canzler
Weert Canzler is the speaker of the Leibniz Research Alliance on Energy Transitions and one of the conveners of the conference. He is a senior research at WZB Berlin Social Science Center, where he works in projects revolving around energy and transport transitions, active mobility. He is chairing the sessions "Transformation of transportation I: New regulation forms of governing the transport system" and "Transformation of transportation II: The social question of mobility" together with his colleagues Jörg Radtke and Miranda Schreurs.
Eva Eichenauer
Eva Eichenauer is a researcher at IRS - Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space, Erkner. She is currently working in the project “ReGerecht - Integrative development of a just balance of interests between cities, urban surroundings and rural areas”. She is chairing the session "Whose future is it anyway? Struggles for just energy futures" together with her colleage Timmo Krüger.
Julia Epp
Julia Epp is a researcher in the Science Policy Studies Group at WZB - Berlin Social Science Center, where she works in the project "Kopernikus-project P2X". She is chairing the session "Implications of different "imaginary" concepts for energy futures: interdisciplinary gains or quarrels?" together with her colleague Silvio Suckow.
Prof. Dr. Ludger Gailing
Ludger Gailing is professor of regional planning at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg. On behalf of the Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space, he is one of the conveners of the conference. He is chairing the session "Conceptualizing the future in energy transitions - sociotechnical imaginaries, path creations, assembling the future".
Prof. Dr. Ute Harms
Ute Harms is Head of Department of Biology Education, IPN – Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education and Full Professor of Biology Eduation, Kiel University. She is one of the conveners of the conference and is chairing the session "The role of knowledge transfer and collective action for successful energy transitions" together with her colleague Hanno Michel.
Dr. Wolfgang Haupt
Wolfgang Haupt is a researcher in the department Institutional Change and Regional Public Goods at IRS - Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space, where he works in the project "Urban Resilience vis-a-vis Extreme Weather Events - Typology and Transfer (ExTrass)". He is chairing the session "The role, significance and potential of local governments in governing climate and clean energy futures" together with his colleague Kristine Kern.
Prof. Dr. Kristine Kern
Kristine Kern is a senior researcher in the research department Institutional Change and Regional Public Goods at the IRS - Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space, Erkner. She is chairing the session "The role, significance and potential of local governments in governing climate and clean energy futures" together with her colleague Wolfgang Haupt.
Dr. Timmo Krüger
Timmo Krüger is a researcher at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg. He is chairing the session "Whose future is it anyway? Struggles for just energy futures" together with his colleague Eva Eichenauer as well as the session "Conflicts over energy futures and common-sense imaginations of the good life".
Wiebke Lass
Wiebke Lass is an economist and senior researcher in the "Climate Resilience" research domain's working group "Urban transformations" at PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. She is chairing the session "Contested Futures: the European energy transition between local protests and populist discourses" together with her colleague Fritz Reusswig.
Dr. Hanno Michel
Hanno Michel is a researcher at IPN – Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education, Kiel University. He is chairing the session "The role of knowledge transfer and collective action for successful energy transitions" together with his colleague Ute Harms.
Dr. Jörg Radtke
Jörg Radtke is a political scientist and researcher at the University of Siegen, where he is principal investigator of the research project "Creative Citizen" in the department for political science. He is chairing the sessions "Transformation of transportation I: New regulation forms of governing the transport system" and "Transformation of transportation II: The social question of mobility" together with his colleagues Weert Canzler and Miranda Schreurs.
Dr. habil. Fritz Reusswig
Fritz Reusswig is a sociologist in the "Climate Resilience" research domain's working group "Urban Transformations" at PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. He is chairing the session "Contested Futures: the European energy transition between local protests and populist discourses" together with his colleague Wiebke Lass.
Prof. Dr. Miranda Schreurs
Miranda Schreurs is a professor of Environmental and Climate Policy at the Technical University Munich. She is chairing the sessions "Transformation of transportation I: New regulation forms of governing the transportation system" and "Transformation system II: The social question of mobility" together with her colleagues Weert Canzler and Jörg Radtke.
Silvio Suckow
Silvio Suckow is a researcher in the Science Policy Studies Group at WZB - Berlin Social Science Center, where he works in the project "Interdisciplinarity and Research Creativity: New ways of generating impact". He is chairing the session "Implications of different "imaginary" concepts for energy futures: interdisciplinary gains or quarrels?" together with his colleague Julia Epp.

Dirk Uhrlandt is professor, scientific board member and division manager for Materials & Energy at INP - Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology, Greifswald. He is one of the conveners of the conference and is chairing the session "high-tech industry for energy futures".
